| Midway Talks Games |
|
Midway recently spoke with GameSpot about its upcoming titles and many DC games were mentioned. Here is what they had to say:
- Mortal Kombat 4 DC - Midway is still searching for an appropriate title to the game as it will be an enhanced version of the love it or hate it arcade title. There will be new charcters and new backgrounds and it is set as a DC launch title. Whether you like it or not, a Mortal Kombat game is a great title to have at the launch of a system. Its popularity can't be denied.
- NFL Blitz 2000 - The developers have said they want to include fully controllable punts, a hang-time meter for additional stats tracking, quicker passing, an optional icon-based passing system, the ability to create defensive plays, more user-created offensive plays (up from nine to 18), more intuitive AI to better combat your created plays, an increased frame rate during weather conditions, and teams and players that better reflect their real-life counterparts based on current stats. It should appear next fall and will definitely be a Dreamcast launch game.
- Hydro Thunder - The only difference between the arcade and Dreamcast versions of this game is going to be that the Dreamcast uses the Power VR chipset. Both versions should look practically identical. Hydro Thunder will also be a Dreamcast launch title.
Midway appears to be yet another company that is willing to throw their full support behind the Dreamcast and its potential success. Toss in the other sports titles that Midaway previously mentioned they were planning for DC and it's looking to be one of the biggest launch line-ups ever.
